Covering social, political and cultural issues, I have reported from New Zealand, Australia, Vietnam, South Korea and Hong Kong for publications including Al JazeeraThe GuardianThe Telegraph, Asia Times, Vice, SBS and Radio New Zealand.

As an Asia correspondent for The Sunday Telegraph, I provide foreign coverage for its print and digital products. As a freelancer, I’ve broken stories about proposed tax reforms in New Zealand, in-prison literacy testing in Melbourne and foreign aid funding cuts in Ho Chi Minh City.

Having been a guest on both New Zealand and Australian radio, I’ve provided expert commentary on multiple stories I’ve had published. In 2015, I was awarded the Bruce Jesson Emerging Journalist Award. The following year I was nominated as student journalist of the year for the Voyager Media Awards.

I’m the founding editor of Aerostorie, and in the quiet moments I practice my Japanese (こんにちは!) and produce news roundups for my Instagram account, @APACAffairs.
